Answers before you ask
What do I need to run Spur?
Windows 10 or 11 with Git for Windows installed. WSL is optional. Spur is a native Windows application: it manages Windows repositories with Git for Windows, and if you have WSL 2 with Git installed, it manages repositories inside your default distribution too (set SPUR_WSL_DISTRO to pick another).
Where can my repositories live?
Windows folders and Linux checkouts inside WSL are both supported. Spur walks Windows trees natively and manages them with native Windows Git; repositories inside WSL use that distribution’s Git.
Does Spur change my existing Git setup?
No. Spur uses your installed Git and preserves its hooks and signing configuration; authentication depends on your configured Git environment. Spur stores no credentials and needs no account, cloud service, or background daemon.
Is Spur available to download?
Yes. Spur is available from the Releases section of its GitHub repository, and development is active, so updates land there as they ship.
Will Spur run on macOS or Linux?
Not today. Spur is a Windows application for Windows and WSL repositories.
